microsoft servers/tools courses
Our Server courses cover Microsoft server products and technologies including BizTalk Server, SQL Server, Windows Application Server, and High-Performance Computing (HPC) Server.
BizTalk Server 2006 Fundamentals
| Despite the trend towards service-oriented architectures, most organizations don’t have the luxury of moving all of their investments in that direction at once. The fact is most will have to deal with legacy applications for some time to come. And to complicate matters further, typical business processes transcend multiple heterogeneous applications making them difficult to automate. BizTalk Server (BTS) 2006 was specifically designed to bridge such integration gaps and simplify business process automation. By combining the connectivity provided by its messaging engine with the productivity provided by its orchestration engine, BizTalk Server 2006 can help you tackle tough business process scenarios in your connected systems today. |

SQL Server 2008 Fundamentals
| This course covers the wide range of technologies added or enhanced in
SQL Server 2008 starting with database topics such as the T-SQL language,
the database engine, and security enhancements. The new XML data type
including support for XML Schema and XQuery; using .NET inside of SQL
Server to extend it; and ADO.NET that is used inside SQL Server as
well as on the client rounds out the coverage. |

High-Performance Computing Fundamentals
This course provides in-depth coverage of high-performance application development and design using Microsoft Windows HPC Server 2008. Intended for both commercial developers and academic researchers, our goal is to quickly bring attendees up to speed on the design and development of 64-bit parallel codes. Attendees learn to take full advantage of modern high-performance clusters, from running simple parametric sweeps to developing multi-core, multi-node apps using OpenMP, PFx, WCF, MPI, and MPI.NET. Discussion includes numerous practical considerations, including data distribution and collection, debugging, tracing, porting, performance tuning, visualization, and customizing the client-side submission process via HPC Server’s API. The course follows a lecture/lab format, providing every attendee with hands-on development experience using a high-performance cluster. |

Windows Server AppFabric (formerly "Dublin") Fundamentals
| Windows Communication Foundation and Windows Workflow Foundation provide the tools to build connected declarative services. Both frameworks provide flexibility in hosting the respective runtimes, but the only "out of the box" host was IIS / WAS. Windows Server AppFabric (codename "Dublin") provides a feature rich host with supporting services, tools and diagnostics to make hosting and managing services simpler. This course will provide developers an introduction to building services using version 4.0 of the .NET Framework and how to manage those services with the Windows Server AppFabric. Coverage will include setup and configuration of the server, deployment and configuration of services, use the services provided by the AppFabric, and how to use the tools to monitor and troubleshoot applications. |
